Providing the capability for systems to implement regional workforce transformations

“Systems have an important role in leading and overseeing progress on this agenda, strengthening collaboration among all health and care partners – particularly with social care – to meet the complex and evolving staffing needs of our services ” - We are the NHS: People Plan for 2020/21

Workforce problems and system solutions

Workforce remains the biggest challenge across health and social care. High absenteeism is increasing due to lack of access to health and wellbeing support. Lowering staff engagement and increasing on going staffing costs. Inflated agency costs represents poor value for money and a lack of quality. Low retention rates, is one of the largest costs for providers with staff retention programmes failing to reach those they are designed to retain. Administrative inefficiency compound costs and damage productivity. Combined annually this costs regions millions of pounds. Within a region, each independent provider attempts to address these issues but the competition between providers only make matters worse

Systems are ideally placed to drive collaboration and implement new ways of working for the benefit of its constituent providers. Circular Wave provide an interoperable platform and suite of health and care workforce solutions that are locally configured to deliver a fully integrated and layered digital ecosystem. We provide the tools and capability for systems to assess and address their biggest workforce challenges. For a medium sized ICS this would save £2.3m per year. This money is saved within the system and can be invested in services to improve population health.

Our approach is to empower the NHS and it’s staff. We encourage experimentation and change. Our Collaborative Platform provides the digital tools for systems leaders to implement the most simple or drastic of transformations which solve their toughest regional workforce issues. Our deployment is phased so that staff groups, providers or services can be added incrementally or removed at any point whilst you will only pay for what you use. Crucially, it’s not about just solving today’s problem. We build future proof networks which scale and adapt so that systems can become a sustained force, continuously driving new ways of working for their constituents and better population health
